Page 2 – Transaction Trends

This is the page for “what actually happened, month by month”. The KPI row swaps in Avg Transaction Value, Gas Fees Paid, Protocol Fees and Failed Transactions next to Total Value Flow. Transaction Value by Month labels every column. Transactions by Status splits Confirmed, Failed, Pending and Reverted, which is the fastest way to spot a bad week. Protocols Tracked, Blockchains, Assets Traded and Audited Protocol Share join Total Value Flow at the top. Transaction Value by Protocol ranks every protocol in your data – twelve in the sample. Who Should Use This Template

It suits a treasury or finance analyst at a protocol, fund or exchange desk who already exports transactions to Excel and needs something a committee can read. Opportunities for Improvement

Being honest about the edges is more useful than pretending there are none. There is no live data path – if you want automatic refresh you have to build the pipeline that lands your export somewhere Power BI can reach, whether that is SharePoint, a gateway-connected folder or a warehouse table. The column names are a hard contract; rename one in your export without remapping it in Power Query and a visual will break. The sample is a single year, so multi-year comparisons need you to extend the date table’s range. Row-level security is not configured – if different teams should see different regions, you add that in the model yourself. And the health-factor and impermanent-loss measures are only as good as the fields you populate; leave them blank and those visuals will report zero rather than warn you.

Best Practices

  1. Keep the headers exactly as shipped. Leave a column empty rather than renaming or deleting it – that alone prevents most refresh failures.
  2. Load complete months. A part-month at the end makes every month-over-month delta misleading, and the header stamp will not warn you.
  3. Sanity-check the fee ratio before the value chart. Fees rising is normal when volume rises; the ratio is the number that tells you whether anything changed.
  4. Decide what “Audited Protocol” means for your team and write it down before anyone populates the column, so the share on page 3 means the same thing in every quarter.
  5. Fork before you customise. Keep the shipped .pbix untouched as a reference copy, and edit a duplicate.
  6. Publish to a workspace if more than two people need it, rather than emailing the file around.
